Born in Brighton, England, Paul recently completed production on BOMBER, his debut feature shot in Germany and the United Kingdom. Post-production will take place in Berlin and Los Angeles and the film is scheduled to be released in 2009. BOMBER follows Paul's success as a shorts filmmaker. His recent short, ODD SHOE, debuted at SXSW (South by Southwest) in 2008, while ESTES AVENUE premiered at the Sundance Film Festival, JEFF FARNSWORTH aired regularly on HBO and LAST HAND STANDING qualified Paul as a Finalist in the Chrysler Million Dollar Film Festival. More recently, the Berlin Film Festival commissioned Paul to direct his script, THE BERLIN WALL, to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. The short film will premiere at the 2009 Berlin Film Festival. Paul has several feature scripts in development, including CARAMEL, THE ARCHITECT and CHASE. In addition, Paul recently wrote a radio play, DROPPING BOMBS, for the BBC. In addition to his film work, Paul is an award-winning commercials director. He won an AICP award for STUPID, an anti-smoking ad which is now part of the permanent collection at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City. His DODGE RAMRASH campaign collected four Telly Awards, and his KITTEN spot was recognised by the Chicago Sun Times as one of the ten best television commercials of the year, also winning a Telly and being honoured at the Chicago International Television Festival. Paul also directs theatre; recent productions include Donald Lewis's GOOD GIRL for the Bailiwick, Richard Dresser's WONDERFUL WORLD for the Infamous Commonwealth Theatre, and Neil Simon's BAREFOOT IN THE PARK for VPT in Chicago. |
